Happy People
What do you do with a bunch of kids for a birthday treat during a very wet and rather chilly February half-term? I’d recommend anyone to try these guys for a very muddy, energetic and thoroughly fun day on the Isle of Wight. There aren’t any mountains but it’s certainly hilly and on a 2.5hr ride I’m guessing we covered 15m of which less than a mile was on road. The kids thought it was brilliant and want to come back for a longer and drier ride in the summer. My wife and I thought it was top fun too and are definitely up for a return (Bembridge to The Needles?). Ross used to be a PE teacher and his enthusiasm and easy-going encouragement (helped by a large bag of Haribos) was perfect for a group of children ranging from 9-14yrs. Meanwhile James was happy to race the kids at the front then double-back to assist at the back. The bikes were new and good quality (Dawes, Claud Butler), the route was carefully planned (and given recent weather) checked the previous day for difficulty. We couldn’t fault it – we’ve been coming to the Isle of Wight for years and without doubt one of the most fun outdoor activities we’ve done here, or for that matter anywhere.
